Drag to connect 3+ same-color hexes!
How to Play HexMatch
HexMatch is a hexagonal color matching game. Drag across adjacent tiles of the same color to connect 3 or more, then release to remove them. New tiles fall from above. Connect 5 or more to create a Hex Bomb — tap it on your next turn to explode all tiles within a 2-ring radius! Every 8 turns, the Rising Tide pushes a new row up from the bottom. If tiles reach the top, the game is over. Watch for Rainbow tiles that match any color. Build long chains and use bombs strategically to survive!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a match?
Touch and drag across 3 or more adjacent hexagonal tiles of the same color. The tiles must be neighbors — each hex has up to 6 adjacent tiles. Release to clear them. You can also backtrack by dragging back over previously selected tiles.
What is the Hex Bomb and how do I use it?
When you connect 5 or more tiles, the middle tile of your chain becomes a Hex Bomb (💣). On your next turn, simply tap the bomb to trigger a massive explosion that clears all tiles within 2 rings around it. This is great for clearing congested areas!
How does the Rising Tide work?
Every 8 turns, a new row of tiles pushes up from the bottom. All existing tiles shift up by one row. You'll see a warning ("Rising Tide in 1 turn!") and a golden highlight on the bottom row the turn before it happens. If any tile gets pushed off the grid, it's Game Over!
What is the Rainbow tile?
The Rainbow tile (⭐) appears every 8 turns in a random position. It matches any color, so you can include it in any chain you're building. Use it strategically to create longer chains or reach the 5-tile threshold for a Hex Bomb!
How is the score calculated?
Scoring depends on chain length: 3 tiles = 30 pts, 4 = 60, 5 = 120 (+ bomb!), 6 = 300, 7+ = 600. Bomb explosions earn 20 points per tile destroyed. Focus on building longer chains and using bombs for the highest scores!
How does the Hint system work?
The 💡 Hint button highlights a valid 4+ chain with a golden outline for 2 seconds. The first hint per session is free; subsequent hints require watching a reward ad. If no matches exist, the Shuffle prompt appears instead.
