How to Play PatternPop

PatternPop challenges your visual memory with an ever-growing grid of patterns. Each round, a set of cells lights up briefly — your job is to memorize their positions and tap them from memory once the pattern disappears. The game starts easy with a small 3×3 grid and just a few highlighted cells. As you progress, the grid expands to 4×4, 5×5, and eventually 6×6. Starting from Round 5, PatternPop introduces its unique Decoy Flash mechanic — 1-2 extra cells flash briefly with a red tint. These decoys are designed to trick your memory. Score 100 points per correct sequence, multiplied by the sequence length. Choose from 4 modes: Classic, Daily, Endless, or Speed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the grid size change?

The grid starts at 3×3 for rounds 1-4, grows to 4×4 for rounds 5-8, expands to 5×5 for rounds 9-14, and reaches 6×6 from round 15 onward. Each size increase adds a new layer of challenge.

What are decoy flashes?

Starting from Round 5, 1-2 extra cells flash briefly during the memorize phase with a red tint. These "decoys" must be ignored — only remember the blue flashes! If you tap a decoy during recall, you'll lose a life. Decoy count increases with difficulty.

How is the score calculated?

Each correct sequence earns 100 × sequence_length points. Complete a round with less than 0.5s per tap and no mistakes to get a Perfect Round (×2 bonus). Your longest streak is tracked across all games.

Can I get more lives?

Use the 💡 Hint button to replay the pattern at 50% slower speed. Your first hint each session is free; subsequent hints require watching a reward ad. The hint does not add to the sequence or change difficulty.

What's the difference between Daily and Endless modes?

Classic: 3 lives, increasing difficulty. Daily: seeded sequence everyone shares, one attempt per day. Endless: no lives limit, see how far you can go. Speed: tiles flash faster each round, testing your reaction time.
