How to Play PatternPop
PatternPop challenges your visual memory with an ever-growing grid of patterns. Each round, a set of cells lights up briefly — your job is to memorize their positions and tap them from memory once the pattern disappears.
The game starts easy with a small 3×3 grid and just a few highlighted cells. As you progress, the grid expands to 4×4, 5×5, and eventually 6×6, and more cells light up each round. You'll need sharp focus and a keen eye to keep up.
Starting from Round 10, PatternPop introduces its unique Decoy Flash mechanic. During the memorize phase, extra cells flash briefly in a lighter shade. These decoys are designed to trick your memory — tap one during recall and you'll lose a life! The key is to notice the shorter flash duration and lighter color of decoys compared to real targets.
You start with 3 lives (hearts). Each wrong tap costs one life. When all lives are gone, the game ends. Score points for each correct tap, with bonus multipliers for completing rounds quickly and accurately. The further you go, the higher your score climbs.
Strategic tip: focus on the spatial relationships between highlighted cells rather than individual positions. Group them into shapes or patterns in your mind. When decoys start appearing, pay extra attention to how long each cell stays lit — real targets shine longer and brighter!
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the grid size change?
The grid starts at 3×3 for rounds 1-4, grows to 4×4 for rounds 5-8, expands to 5×5 for rounds 9-14, and reaches 6×6 from round 15 onward. Each size increase adds a new layer of challenge.
What are decoy flashes?
Starting from Round 10, extra cells flash briefly during the memorize phase in a lighter blue color. These "decoys" only appear for 0.3 seconds — much shorter than real target cells. If you tap a decoy position during recall, you'll lose a life!
How is the score calculated?
You earn points for each correctly recalled cell. Bonus points are awarded for completing a round without mistakes (perfect round bonus) and for speed. Higher rounds give more points per cell due to increasing difficulty.
Can I get more lives?
You can watch a reward ad to gain +1 life and restart the current round. This can only be used once per game, so save it for when you really need it!
What's the difference between Daily and Endless modes?
Daily mode uses a seed-based pattern sequence, so everyone gets the same puzzle each day — great for comparing scores with friends. Endless mode generates random patterns each time for unlimited practice.
